One of my favorite parts of working on sound design

Hi everyone,
while working on a sound I realized that one of the things I do most often in sound design is taking small portions from longer sounds: maybe a file lasts a couple of seconds, but I isolate just half a second (or a bit more) and then, through layering, I overlap these micro-sections to create something new.

It’s certainly not a groundbreaking technique, I know, but it’s one of the things I enjoy the most about this work. It makes me feel a bit like Daft Punk when, in famous tracks like One More Time, they sampled just a few milliseconds from different songs and blended them into something unique. I truly love this process.

And you? What’s the aspect of sound design that excites you the most?
